Excellent Corrosion Resistance
The material is resistant to acids, alkalis, salt solutions, and many organic solvents. It can transport media with a pH value of 2-12, does not rust or scale, and is suitable for chemical wastewater, agricultural irrigation water, municipal water supply and drainage, etc.
High Impact Resistance and Flexibility
PE is a tough material with excellent low-temperature impact resistance (not easily brittle at -20℃), adapting to soil settlement, pipeline vibration, etc., and is not easily damaged by external forces.
Extremely Low Fluid Resistance
The ball's through-hole matches the pipe's inner diameter, allowing for almost unobstructed flow of media when fully open, with pressure loss far lower than gate valves and globe valves.
Convenient and Reliable Flange Connection
Using PE flanges or steel-plastic composite flanges, it can be directly connected to PE pipes and metal equipment. Disassembly and maintenance are convenient, and the sealing performance is good, suitable for large-diameter pipelines (DN50 and above). Hygienic and Environmentally Friendly: Made of food-grade PE material, non-toxic and odorless, with a smooth inner wall that does not breed bacteria, suitable for use in drinking water, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical pure water applications.
Lightweight: With a specific gravity of approximately 0.95g/cm³, only 1/8 the weight of metal valves, installation and handling require no heavy equipment, reducing construction costs.
Main Structural Types
Full-bore Ball Valve: The inner diameter of the ball passage is essentially the same as the pipe's inner diameter. Minimal flow resistance, suitable for pipelines requiring pigging (PIG) or with strict pressure drop requirements.
Reduced-bore Ball Valve: The inner diameter of the ball passage is smaller than the pipe's inner diameter. More compact structure, slightly lower cost, but will result in some pressure drop.
Valve Seat and Seal: Typically employs a double shut-off and vent (DBB) design. When the valve is closed, sealing is achieved on both upstream and downstream sides, and the accumulated medium in the valve cavity can be safely released.
Operation Method:
Manual: Operated via a handle or gearbox, economical and practical.
Pneumatic/Electric: Equipped with actuators, enabling remote control, automation, or program control, suitable for applications requiring frequent operation or inaccessible locations.
Main Application Areas
Municipal Water Supply and Drainage Systems
Urban water supply networks, greywater reuse, and zoned/segmented control and isolation of drainage systems.
Chemical and Industrial Pipelines
On/off control of pipelines transporting non-strong oxidizing chemicals.
Agricultural Irrigation
Main PE flanged ball valves and zone control valves for large-scale sprinkler and drip irrigation systems.
Mining and Water Treatment
Slurry transport, process pipelines in wastewater treatment plants, and seawater desalination plants
Gas Transmission and Distribution
Special Note: Gas-specific PE ball valves are yellow, using electrofusion or flange connections. Material, design, and testing standards are more stringent; they must not be used interchangeably with water supply valves.
