Working Principle
The working principle is based on gas-liquid mass transfer and chemical reactions. When acidic waste gas enters the tower, it comes into countercurrent contact with an alkaline absorption liquid (such as sodium hydroxide solution) sprayed inside the tower. On the packing layer, the waste gas fully contacts the absorption liquid, where the acidic and alkaline substances react and are absorbed into the absorption liquid. The purified gas passes through a demister to remove any entrained liquid droplets before being discharged into the atmosphere.
Structural Components
The acid treatment tower primarily consists of a tower body, packing layer, spray system, demister, and air inlet and outlet ports. The tower body is typically constructed of corrosion-resistant materials (such as fiberglass and stainless steel) to withstand the corrosive effects of the waste gas. The packing layer provides a large contact area for gas-liquid mass transfer, the spray system evenly distributes the absorption liquid, and the demister removes liquid droplets from the purified gas.
