PP Pickling Tank

PP pickling tanks are made of polypropylene sheets and are used for filtering, cleaning, or immersing corrosive materials such as hydrochloric acid. They can be used for cleaning or immersion of instruments in chemical, medical, teaching, and research units and laboratories.
Structure and Manufacturing The thickness of the side plates and middle partitions is typically 12mm-25mm, depending on the tank size and load-bearing capacity (hydrostatic pressure of the liquid). The bottom plate may be thicker to ensure structural strength. Large tanks require additional external reinforcing ribs to prevent bulging and deformation.
Manufacturing Process: CNC cutting is used for material preparation, followed by hot air welding by professional welders using pure PP welding rods.
All welds must be uniform, full, and without gaps to ensure strength and sealing.

Supporting Designs

Overflow port: Used to control the liquid level and discharge waste liquid.
Slag discharge port: Located at the bottom of the tank, used to discharge sediment.
Saddle/Bracket: Usually made of carbon steel with an outer PP cladding or entirely of PP material, used to support the tank.

Performance Characteristics

Corrosion-resistant and leak-proof: PP exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to most inorganic acids, alkalis, and salt solutions, making it ideal for holding pickling solutions such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid.
Non-toxic and odorless, meeting hygiene standards: PP is an environmentally friendly material that will not contaminate the liquid inside the tank and facilitates subsequent wastewater treatment.
Lightweight: With a density of only 0.90-0.91 g/cm³, it weighs only a fraction of fiberglass or metal tanks, facilitating transportation, installation, and relocation.
Long service life: Under suitable temperature and concentration, PP pickling tanks age slowly, resulting in a service life far exceeding that of ordinary metal tanks (such as stainless steel, which is severely corroded in hydrochloric acid).
Easy to process and repair: Seamless welding can be performed using methods such as hot air welding and extrusion welding, making processing and shaping convenient. Localized damage is also easily repaired by welding.
Low overall cost: Although the unit price may be higher than some metals, its characteristics of requiring no anti-corrosion treatment, simple maintenance, and long service life result in a very low overall cost over its entire life cycle.
The use of high-polymer plastic sliding rollers prevents surface scratches on the steel strip during pickling.

Used for pre-treatment pickling, rust removal, and activation of hardware and sheet metal parts.

Used for pickling and removing oxide scale from wire and sheet metal.

Such as pickling treatment of copper and aluminum materials.

Used as corrosion-resistant containers for various chemical reactions.
