PP Electrolytic Tank

The PP electrolytic tank is constructed from welded sheets of polypropylene polymer. Polypropylene is corrosion-resistant, scale-resistant, leak-resistant, impact-resistant, and has a low expansion coefficient, meeting the process requirements of pickling, electroplating, electrolysis, and phosphating tanks. The plastic sheet material for the tank body can be selected in varying thicknesses to suit different volume requirements. The cell body dimensions and other parameters can be customized to meet customer specifications. Large tanks can also be welded with a steel frame to reinforce the outer edges for increased stability. This product is widely used in pickling, phosphating, electrolysis, copper plating, nickel plating, zinc plating, palladium plating, and gold plating processes in the metallurgical, electroplating, and chemical industries.

Product Features

The PP electrolytic tank can operate at temperatures up to 95°C.
It has excellent electrical insulation and extremely low water absorption, making it unaffected by humidity.
The material's individual dielectric constant and dissipation factor are very low and unaffected by frequency and temperature.
The PP sheet's dielectric strength is high, increasing with increasing operating temperature.

Typical Structures

  • Single-layer thick-walled tank: Commonly made of 12–20 mm PP sheet, bent and welded in one piece, with a corner seam coefficient ≥0.7, and hydrostatic pressure resistance ≥10 kPa; externally reinforced with steel frames to prevent sidewall bulging when full of liquid.
  • Composite-lined tank: An 8–10 mm PP sheet is applied to the inside of a reinforced concrete or steel shell, with a layer of fiberglass mesh and adhesive in between, combining rigidity and corrosion resistance. This type is often used in copper electrolytic refining or electrowinning, with a single tank volume reaching 3 m × 1.2 m × 1.2 m, producing 10 tons of cathode copper per day.
  • Integrated functions: The tank ends integrate overflow boxes, circulation ports, exhaust ports, and thermometer sockets; the bottom is sloped ≥2° and equipped with a DN50 drain valve for easy cleaning and anode sludge recovery.
