Acid Wash Filter

Working Principle

Acid wash filters primarily separate impurities from the acid solution through interception and adsorption. When the acid solution flows through the filter, solid particles, suspended solids, and other impurities are blocked by the filter media, while the acid solution continues to flow through the pores of the filter media, thus achieving solid-liquid separation.

Structural Types

• Bag Filters: Typically composed of a filter housing, filter bags, and filter bag support mesh. The filter bags are made of acid-resistant materials, such as expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). Acid enters through the filter inlet, is filtered by the filter bag, and flows out through the outlet, with impurities trapped inside the filter bag.
• Cartridge Filters: Composed of a sealed housing and filter cartridges. The filter cartridge is generally hollow and made of acid-resistant materials such as ceramics or plastics. Acid permeates from the outer wall to the inner wall of the filter cartridge, and impurities are trapped on the outer surface of the cartridge.

Basket Filters: Mainly composed of a housing and basket-type filter screen. The basket-type filter screen is cylindrical and placed inside the housing. Acid enters from one side of the filter, is filtered by the screen, and flows out from the other side, with impurities collected inside the screen.

Self-Cleaning Filters: Such as an acid washing waste liquid filter for a waste acid regeneration system, including a filter body, filter screen, filter screen support frame, and compressed air washing device. Acid enters through the inlet, is filtered, and flows out through the outlet. Simultaneously, compressed air is introduced into the compressed air ring pipe through the compressed air inlet, forming a gas-liquid mixture that washes the filter screen, reducing impurity adhesion. The filter screen can also be cleaned through the drain outlet and the cleaning water inlet.

Pickling filters are widely used in industries such as steel, electroplating, and chemicals. In the cold rolling pickling mills of the steel industry, they can be used to filter waste acid in the pickling tank and prevent the acid pump impeller from clogging. In the electroplating industry, they can filter the acid solution in the pickling tank to ensure the purity of the acid solution and improve the electroplating quality.
