From a manufacturing perspective, PP storage tanks are typically made using integral one-piece molding technology or sheet metal welding processes. Integral molding results in a more uniform structure, no weld seams, and excellent sealing, effectively preventing leakage; while welded molding is suitable for the production of large or irregularly shaped tanks, ensuring joint strength through high-quality hot air or extrusion welding. In terms of structural design, PP storage tanks can be configured for vertical or horizontal installation according to usage requirements and are equipped with auxiliary accessories such as inlet/outlet ports, overflow ports, level gauges, manholes, and stirring devices, improving operational convenience and system integration.
Operating temperature
The operating temperature range of PP storage tanks is generally between -20℃ and 90℃, with specific temperature resistance influenced by material grade and wall thickness. To enhance structural stability, some large PP storage tanks employ external reinforcing ribs or internal lining support structures to cope with liquid static pressure and external environmental stress. Furthermore, due to the inherent UV resistance of polypropylene, modified PP storage tanks can also be used in outdoor environments; however, prolonged exposure to strong UV radiation or high temperatures can still lead to material aging. Therefore, shading or protective measures are recommended to extend service life.
Safety performance
Regarding safety performance, the design of PP storage tanks must comply with relevant pressure vessel specifications and industry standards. Especially when dealing with flammable, toxic, or high-pressure media, rigorous pressure testing and sealing checks are essential. Simultaneously, the grounding design of the tank is crucial, effectively preventing safety hazards caused by static electricity buildup. Due to its lightweight, corrosion resistance, and ease of installation, PP storage tanks have become a significant alternative to traditional steel-lined PP or fiberglass storage tanks in modern industry, demonstrating excellent application value in small and medium-sized liquid storage systems.
